The Perfect Job

Quote: Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life. – Mark Twain

This saying puts a lot of pressure on people trying to find their way to the right career but is it possible to find a job which is so fun that it won’t feel like work? Can a job be so enjoyable that it wouldn’t feel like one? One of the most important things to keep in mind is to find a job which fits your interests, skills, values and personality.

Learn about yourself

Firstly, you must learn more about yourself and it might sound silly but perhaps try a self-assessment quiz on the internet. If you’re still unsure, perhaps see a career counsellor who will be able to advise you on what jobs might suit you.

Learn about the job

After drawing up a list of occupations you’re interested in, find out as much as you can about the job such as salary, job scope, level of education, training needed and more. Let’s face it, finding a job that you’ll definitely love is going to be difficult and some may look great on paper but could be all wrong for you. For instance, the job requirements may require a higher level of education you don’t have or training you’re not willing to undergo. There are a lot of things to consider when looking for the ‘perfect job’ which to some, might not even exist!

There are thousands of jobs to choose from, so sometimes, it’s more of finding a job where you would enjoy most of what the job entails, acceptable earnings for you to be able to live your life the way you want along with good chances of upward mobility.
