Have you ever stared at lipstick shelves, feeling confused about which lipstick to choose? Sometimes, a trip to a makeup store feels more like a task rather than a fun activity that you should be doing. Be your own lipstick finder by following these guidelines:
Know your undertone!
One of the easiest way to find your skin’s undertone is by looking at your veins on your wrist. If you have blue veins, then your undertone is pink whereas if you have green veins, then you have a warmer undertone (yellow). However, if you have a mixture, it indicates you have a neutral skin tone and you’ll be able to wear any shade of lipstick.
Safe with skin tone lipsticks!
It’s never an issue to stay safe with your lipstick colour choice. You can also stick to shades that are similar to your skin tone. For example, if you have fairer skin, go for light pink or nude brown lipsticks. On the contrary, if you have warm skin tone, then try beige or caramel lipsticks.
Confidence with bold lipsticks!
If you’re unsure of what colour to go on your first try, then you should start with basic bright colours (cherry red, maroon, purple or brown). If wearing bright colours boost your confidence, then you should definitely wear it!
Regardless of your skin tone or undertone, you will always end up finding the colour that suits you the best.
