A Man’s Guide to Skincare

Contrary to popular belief, having a consistent skincare routine isn’t made for women only. Men are also taking necessary steps to achieve and maintain healthier looking skin. However, there are some individuals who may still be new to skincare and more often than not struggle to find the right skin care regimen. If you’re reading this, then it’s clear that you’re interested in looking your best, feeling more confident and having great skin!

We truly understand that being an absolute beginner to skincare and trying to find the perfect routine can be a real challenge.

Fret not, because you don’t have to feel that way anymore as we’ve got something to help you out like this list of essential products you’ll need to build your basic men’s skincare routine.

UNDERSTAND YOUR SKIN TYPE
This goes for both men and women. Before purchasing any skincare products, the first step is to determine your skin type:

  • Dry skin
  • Combination skin type
  • Oily skin
  • Sensitive skin

Not being aware of your skin type could lead to purchasing the wrong products that may not work well for your skin and cause skin irritation. Hence, it is essential to understand your skin conditions. Once you’ve identified your skin type, it’s time to plan your daily skincare routine. We have split the list according to the products you will be needing for morning and night skincare routine.

Morning routine:

#1 Cleanser
#2 Exfoliate (two to three times a week)
#3 Toner
#4 Moisturiser
#5 Sunscreen

Night routine:

#1 Cleanser
#2 Toner
#3 Serum
#4 Lip Mask
#5 Eye Cream
#6 Moisturiser or Night Cream

If you find that the product you’re using is causing skin irritation such as acne, blemishes and red spots with a burning, do stop using it immediately and seek advice from your dermatologist. It may be a sign that your skincare routine or product needs a change.
