In addition to places not to be missed in London, there are also places that might be off the beaten path that would be of interest to other travellers.

Camden Town

For a spot of vintage shopping, check out Camden Town with its open-air markets and stores that sells crafts, books, clothing, jewellery, fashion items and antiques. Look out for Italian, Indian, South African and pan-Asian cuisine in this area. Camden is also the place to be for live music at the Jazz Café or Blues Kitchen.

Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill Carnival will be happening from the 25th of August to 27th of August 2018 in Notting Hill, Ladbroke Grove, Westbourne Grove, Westbourne Park and Kensal Road. Notting Hill Carnival is a celebration of Caribbean culture and traditions in London and will feature Caribbean colours, music and flavours.

Portobello market

Portobello market is the world’s largest antiques market but feature fruit and vegetable stalls, fashion, second hand goods and most importantly, hot food! If you’re hunting for antiques, go on Saturday, between 9am to 7pm where hundreds of antiques and special shops will be open.

Big Ben & London Eye

If you’re insistent on seeing the tourist spots of London, go on a walking tour and stop by Big Ben, one of the most famous landmarks in London. Across the river is the London Eye which you can go up and have a bird’s eye view of London. Take the London Underground and stop at Westminster station and you’ll be right opposite Big Ben.

Leicester Square Theatre

Fan of musicals? Then you must take the London Underground or ‘Tube’ to Leicester Square Station and you’ll arrive at the Leicester Square Theatre. Whether it’s Les Misérables, The Lion King or Chicago, the Leicester Square Theatre plays host to many more musicals which can be viewed at their website, www.lsbo.co.uk/musical.

The Ritz London

If you’d like to lessen the hassle, get the Visitor Oyster card via their website and have the card delivered to your home before your trip to London. The Oyster card can be used for all London’s public transport and this includes buses and discounted fares on riverboats. Buy and preload your card via the website and you can also put in your departure date so your card will get to you prior to your visit.
