Time For Some Serious Family Fun!

Remember the fun you had on your first roller coaster? Or at least the memory of having ice cream with your family at the amusement park? Why not do the same for your own children?

However, do note that amusement parks are more than just roller coasters these days.

Depending on where or what you want to do, check out these theme parks for your next family vacation.

Disneyland

It isn’t a theme park list if Disneyland isn’t on it and for good reason. Disneyland Park, located In Anaheim, California, was opened in 1955 and is the only theme park that was designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney himself! There are eight ‘themed’ lands that includes Adventureland, Tomorrowland and Critter Country where each of these ‘lands’ have a few different rides to check out!

Must ride: Splash Mountain, in Critter Country, is a log-flume ride which features a slow outdoor float-through which then goes indoors with its climactic steep 15 metre drop into a ‘briar patch’.

Tokyo DisneySea

Located just outside of Tokyo, DisneySea has seven themed areas which lead to different types of rides. We recommend the Mermaid Lagoon which replicates the feeling of being underwater while being indoors and is best for small children.

Must ride: Raging Spirits thrill ride has a 360-degree loop and allows you to see the exterior of the park which is breathtaking especially when it’s lit up at night!

Six Flags Magic Mountain

If your family is made up of adrenaline junkies, perhaps a trip to Los Angeles is in store. Six Flags Magic Mountain has the world record for most roller coasters in an amusement park and was visited by about 3.3 million visitors in 2017! Please do ensure that there are no underlying health issues that may impede your fun such as heart problems especially when it comes to these gnarly roller coasters.

Must ride: Tatsu is 3602ft (over one kilometre) of winding track and you’ll feel 263ft (about 80 metres) in plunges with four upside-down flips, the world’s highest pretzel loop while going at almost 100 km per hour facing the ground, 17 storeys up!

Universal Studios Singapore

Located just a short flight away or even a bus ride away, Universal Studios Singapore is within Resorts World Sentosa. The theme park has 24 rides, shows and attractions in seven themed zones, namely, New York City, Hollywood, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away, and Madagascar.

Must see: ‘Donkey Live’ is a live show which uses digital puppetry and features Donkey from Shrek engaging and entertaining guests.

Legoland Water Park

If you’re looking for someplace closer to home, why not just drive down to Johor Bahru and check out Legoland Water Park? It is located nearby the main Legoland Malaysia and is a Lego-themed water theme park that boasts a wave pool, tube and body slides or float along the Build-A-Raft lazy river!

Must ride: Check out the Brick Blaster and slide your way down tunnels of splashing water in a tube. Do note that there are height and weight limitations on this ride.
