How to Stay Happy at Work

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]If you find yourself eyeing opportunities outside of your workplace because you’re bored or feel dissatisfied, hold your horses before springing at the next job opening. Why not try to find some contentment at your current job first before jumping the gun and changing jobs?

#1: Work is work

Letting your personal issues cloud your mind at work makes it difficult to concentrate which could lead to poor productivity. Nobody is perfect and our personal lives will never be without problems but you need to put these problems aside when you’re at work, much like not bringing your work home.

#2: Creature comforts

You spend most of your day in the office so if you have an assigned desk, there’s no harm in putting little personal touches to make you feel more comfortable and relaxed.

#3: Eat healthily and keep hydrated

Eating a balanced diet and maintaining the right level of hydration will reflect in your energy levels and attitude. Dehydration can influence your mood, energy levels and ability to think clearly which could negatively impact your work.

#4: What will be, will be

There’s always that one co-worker you just can’t gel with. Don’t try to change your co-workers, instead, change how you react to them. Letting someone’s actions affect you could mess with your emotions which could cloud your judgement. Just breathe in, breathe out, and walk away.

#5: Treat yourself

Even if your company doesn’t reward you for hitting your KPI (Key Performance Indicator), doesn’t mean you can’t. There’s no need for extravagance especially if money’s tight. Go out for dinner, drinks or get that dress you’ve been looking at for months. Doing this will lift your mood and make you work better.
